Our Privacy Promise: MailKit is architected with a strict Zero-Data-Collection model. We do not operate remote tracking servers, we never read your emails, and your notes, templates, and settings never leave your device.

1. Introduction & Core Philosophy

At DodaTech, we believe your email communications, thoughts, and workflow habits should remain entirely private. MailKit - Power Toolkit for Gmail (“MailKit”, “the Extension”, “we”, “us”) operates entirely client-side inside your Chrome browser.

  • We do not operate any backend user tracking or logging databases.
  • We do not collect, read, transmit, store, or sell your emails, private notes, snippets, contacts, or passwords.
  • Everything you create inside MailKit is stored strictly on your local device inside your Chrome browser sandbox.

2. Information We Access & How It Is Used

MailKit operates directly within your browser session on https://mail.google.com/*. Below is an itemized breakdown of what the extension accesses:

A. Private Thread Notes & Checklists

Allows you to attach sticky notes, to-do checklists, and due date reminders to specific email threads. Stored exclusively in your browser’s local storage (chrome.storage.local / chrome.storage.sync). Notes never leave your device and are never sent to external servers.

B. Quick Snippets & Email Templates

Allows you to type shortcodes (like ;intro, ;meet15) or pick templates to auto-expand canned text into your Gmail compose window. Stored exclusively on your local device.

C. 1-Click Labels & Visual Badges

Tags email threads with color-coded priority labels (e.g., Action Required, Waiting, Review) and displays badges in your Gmail inbox rows. Stored in Chrome’s local storage and synced with native Gmail tags if configured.

D. Privacy Shield (Spy Tracker Blocker)

Inspects email bodies for known 1x1 invisible tracking pixels and read-receipt beacons (such as Mailtrack, Superhuman, HubSpot, Yesware, Streak) and prevents them from loading. Aggregate counter stats are stored locally on your device. MailKit does not report or send logs of blocked trackers to any external servers.

E. In-Thread Search & Auto-Expander

Performs client-side text searches across open Gmail messages in your current tab. All search index queries execute entirely within your browser’s local memory.

3. Chrome Permissions & Why They Are Needed

MailKit requests the absolute minimum permissions necessary to function:

4. Third-Party Services, Remote Code, and Analytics

  • No Remote Code: In strict adherence to Google Chrome Web Store policies, MailKit contains zero remote code. All scripts and stylesheets are packaged within the extension files.
  • No Analytics or Telemetry: MailKit contains no Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, or tracking SDKs.
  • No Advertising: We do not display ads, inject affiliate links, or monetize user data.
  • No Data Brokerage: We do not sell, rent, lease, or disclose any user data to third parties under any circumstances.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Because all your data is stored locally on your own computer:

  • Exporting: You can export all your saved notes and snippets at any time in JSON or CSV format via the MailKit toolbar popup or Settings page.
  • Deleting: You can clear all data instantly via the Clear All Data button in MailKit Settings, or by simply uninstalling the extension from chrome://extensions. Removing the extension immediately purges all local storage.

6. Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance

MailKit complies fully with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements:

  • MailKit’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.
  • We do not transfer or disclose your Gmail data to any third party.
  • We do not use your Gmail data for serving advertisements, training AI models, or building user profiles.
  • Human workers cannot view your emails, notes, or data.
